LYCANTHROPY:

General Info:
ABEOVULTUS can have their first shift anywhere between the ages of five and twenty. Any earlier and they will be a FERAL ABEOVULTUS, any later and they will be a DOCILE ABEOVULTUS.

Categories of ABEOVULTUS (WERE-CREATURES):

ANTHROMORPHS- ABEOVULTUS that, in full form, retain mostly human features.

LYCANTHROPES- ABEOVULTUS that, at the cost of more energy, can shift at will between an ANTHROMORPHIC form and a THERIOMORPHIC form.

THERIOMORPHS- ABEOVULTUS that, in full form, become a larger more powerful version of the host's respective beast.

SPECIAL CASES:

FERAL ABEOVULTUS- ABEOVULTUS that remain quarter-to-half-shifted at all times, unless they wish to shift to full form. FERAL ABEOVULTUS seem to always be under the influence of their DOMINATING EMOTION (explained in the next section) which is usually Rage.

DOCILE ABEOVULTUS- ABEOVULTUS that can never shift beyond half-form. Usually they would live the life of a human, never needing to shift to their full form, and because of this are not often hunted. The most common DOMINATING EMOTION among DOCILE ABEOVULTUS is Panic.

DOMINATING EMOTIONS:

DOMINATING EMOTIONS, or DOMINION AFFECTUS (N: DOMAFECT), are emotions that would trigger a shift in a young and/or inexperienced ABEOVULTUS, and act as any normal emotions would. The four major categories of these emotions are;

ANGER

FEAR

PASSION

DESPAIR

The major emotions have subcategories, varying slightly from their parent and sibling emotions. ("Early life" refers to the time before the ABEOVULTUS has reached the point of slowing of age, which is usually around the age of 18.)

ANGER: These emotions become stronger if the one dominated by them lives an early life full of drama.

RAGE- The one dominated by this emotion is in a constant state of anger, often attacking others on sight. This emotion often dominates FERAL ABEOVULTUS. A master of this emotion would be able to control that impulse, as well as hide their anger.

WRATH- The one dominated by this emotion lets out short but violent spurts of anger, often against their own will. A master of this emotion would be able to limit those spurts of anger to a verbal attack.

FEAR: These emotions become stronger if the one dominated by them lives a reclusive early life.

DESPARATION- Normally the one dominated by this emotion would go to any lengths to survive, showing little to no courage. In some cases, however rare, the one dominated by this emotion would exude excessive bravery and do anything to protect the things they love. A master of the former case of DESPARATION would be able to fully utilize courage, but most times would return to their root emotion at the sign of extreme danger. There is no mastery of the latter case as it is already a positive.

PANIC- The one dominated by this emotion is often jittery or skittish, and would usually trigger a shift to escape danger. However, this does not mean that the emotion's host would be incapable if showing courage. A master of this emotion would only show PANIC when faced with their greatest fear(s).


PASSION: These emotions become stronger if the one dominated by them is naturally optimistic and lives a decent early life.

OBSESSION- Often times the one dominated by this emotion might show tinges of maniacal behavior or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. Other times they might stand up for something they believe in and would do so with excessive and sometimes dangerous vigor. Mastery of the former case is rare as it is not such an extreme, but the maniacal obsession behavior might result in overwhelming knowledge on a specific subject. Mastery of the latter case would result in impressive persuasion skills.

LUST- The one dominated by this emotion is, in every case, a sexual being, and often times demonstrates sadistic behaviors (likely an evolutionary result of being discriminated against). For the latter reason, they are often confused with the OBSESSION DOMAFFECT by inexperienced minds. A master of this emotion would be able to control their sexual urges as well as easily infatuate another individual, though it does not work on others of the LUST DOMAFECT.

DESPAIR: These emotions become stronger if the one dominated by them is naturally pessimistic and experiences trauma in their early lives.

AGONY- The one dominated by this emotion would often look stern or serious, and act very much like those of the WRATH DOMAFECT. However, unlike those of the WRATH DOMAFECT, the spurts of anger include tears and a quick retreat and self-beating, be it mental or physical. A master of this emotion would be able to control the outbursts at the cost of an emotional handicap, limiting expressions of other emotions to a minimum. However, some of the AGONY DOMAFECT are able to express more happiness than others.

DEPRESSION- The one dominated by this emotion exudes an aura of sadness, often looking ragged and of poor hygiene. They are often introverted, shy and quiet, and find it hard to become motivated. Masters of this emotion would still be introverted, quiet and shy, but would be stronger mentally and have more ease in finding motivation.

FULL FORM- (n) (of ABEOVULTUS) The form of an ABEOVULTUS that is completely shifted.

SHIFT- (n) (of ABEOVULTUS) A change into full form.
(v) (of ABEOVULTUS) The act of changing into full form.

VENATOR- (n) The lead of the Hunters.

LATRO- (n) Any followers of the VENATOR.

HOSTILES- (n) Code term for Hunters or any who would seek to harm an ABEOVULTUS.
